Sweet Summer

Guess who's back! For good this time (I hope). The LC just completely took over my life and I had no time to blog but the LC is over and I'm ready to start blogging again. I won't try and make any promises I can't keep but I'll hopefully be posting at least once a week!

This co-ordinate is from zaful. I've seen their adverts on Instagram and I said I'd give them a try. Their clothes seem to be good quality for their price. Their clothes are on the cheap side which is great if your looking for a new outfit but don't have much money to spend. So expect to see a lot more of them on my blog. Their only downfall is their delivery time, It took over two weeks for my clothes to come.

I love co-ords because you can mix and match them. Ensuring that you get more outfits for your buck!

It's Actually Summer in Ireland?

Ireland has actually been experiencing summer this year but I don't want to hold my hopes too high just in case it starts raining tomorrow. This outfit it taking full advantage of the great weather without showing too much skin.

Everyone's in a rush during summer time to go chill at the beach or have a peruse around town so your wardrobe needs to be filled with comfortable and versatile clothing. Clothing that needs to be easy to take off and allows your skin to breathe.

I took advice from my previous post and paired these striped palazzo pants with a simple white off the shoulder crop top. It was simple and light exactly what summer embodies.

If your a bit more conservative swap the crop top for a baggy t-shirt and just tuck it in. It will look even more carelessly fashionable, a look loved by Parisians.

Sorry this is late, I've been busy procrastinating study for two weeks but summer has arrived and I'll hopefully be able to post at least once a week.

KIKO Haul + Review

Only people in the country will understand how hard it sometimes it is to find good quality makeup! There's currently no KIKO counter in my area but I've heard many good reviews from friends and I decided to try it for myself. I only spent less than €40 and managed to buy a variety of products.

I bought two foundations, their Universal fit hydrating foundation
and Skin evolution foundation. When I realised they actually had foundations in my shade, I was beyond excited. Hardly any shops where I live sell foundations in my shade and sometimes it's a real struggle. Out of the two of them I preferred the hydrating foundation as I barely needed to use as much as I usually do to create an airbrushed look. It covered all my flaws while still feeling very light and looking full coverage. The only downsize to this foundation is the packaging I would have preferred if it came in a bottle with a pump. The Skin Evolution does exactly as it states, my makeup did look very matte although I did put a lot of powder on because I have oily skin. It also felt a bit heavy after a while but other than that it was great.

I have nothing to sing but praises for their eyeshadow and eye pencil range. I bought three eyeshadows (shades - 139,156 and 180) and they were only €2.69 each! They are extremely long-lasting and when I mean extremely I mean extremely. This can also be seen as a disadvantage to some,It took me ages to remove it but maybe it would be easier to remove if you used makeup remover instead of water. The eyeshadows are also really pigmented and pick up well on camera. The shade 139 is also brilliant as a highlighter.

I also purchased their eye pencil( 815 and 800), Long lasting stick - 31
and Kajal pencil - 115. As you can see they are really pigmented and bright.

I'd definitely recommend everyone to check it out and I'll definitely shopping their again!

It Can't Be Spring Yet?

It seems Ireland hasn't got the memo it's Spring time because it's still a bit chilly here. I decided to pair my new long gilet with my white wool halter neck. You can never go wrong with white on white!

Gilets are an absolute essential, they honestly never go out of style. You can get them in so many different styles and colours. Small knitted ones are cute for summer and spring or you can get a large black one that you can pair with everything for winter.

Since I have a small hatred for jeans and I only wear them when I absolutely have to I paired this white combo with the comfortable black pants. As you can probably tell I was in a very minimalist mood but if you want to add some colour to this outfit. I'd suggest swapping the white turtle neck for red sweater or a long sleeved pastel t-shirt.

Culchie Goes to Dublin

I'm back! I'm so sorry for the wait...Happy Late New Years I suppose. I recently went on a class trip to Dublin, to watch a play. It was a lovely day and I got to go to shops I usually don't get to visit. I went into Brown Thomas and let me just say I nearly died. It wasn't like I could afford anything there...but a girl can visualise and hopefully one day achieve.

I'm wearing black high waisted skinny jeans with a David Bowie shirt for a more rock star vibe. A plain black or white t-shirt can also be worn if you are looking for a more minimal style. Everyone needs a bit of glamour in their lives so I threw on my new white faux-fur jacket. I recently purchased some new coats so I might do a coat haul so watch out for that! To complete the look I wore a pair of pleather Chelsea's. This look is perfect day time but you can also make it night time appropriate by swapping the boots for some lace up high heeled boots or the t-shirt for a silver crop top.

Once again I'm very sorry for the delay but I hope to start posting at least once a week! You can also check out my polyvore -culchiecween

Penney's & T.K Maxx Winter Haul

I know I know it's been ages but I'm honestly so busy with 5th year. People aren't lying when they say it's hard transitioning from 4th year to 5th year but I'll try my best to update frequently!

This post is just to show you some of my recent purchases from Penney's & T.k Maxx. Don't you just love Winter! I certainly do its my favourite season after Autumn. I just love hot coco in front of the fire with your family all gathered around or just by yourself reading a novel. I think it's truly during winter you actually appreciate what a great family you have because you spend so much time with them cause it's hella cold outside. Well it certainly is here in Ireland anyway. So in celebration of Winter I decided to buy some new clothes but let's be honest here when is it not a good time to buy new cloths.

Halter Necks! Halter Necks! Halter Necks! Do I need to say it one more time before I can get my point across. Halter necks are the staple of any Winter wardrobe, you can dress them up or down. Make sure you have them in a variety of colours and styles then people can't say didn't you just wear a halter neck yesterday. I'm honestly planning on buying more and wearing them everyday they go with absolutely everything and you look so classy and sophisticated wearing it! Please if you learn one thing from reading this post, it's the Halter Necks are everything!

These khaki pants have more of a summer vibe because of their fabric but I couldn't stay a way from a good fashion deal. The fabric feels really soft and it make you look much slimmer. I plan on pairing it with one of my halter necks, see they go with everything! These pants are nice for if you going for a casual look by pairing them with a simple short and some brogues. Or a night out with some friends by math chick it with some black stilettos and a black blouse like the one in the picture. The picture doesn't do the blouse justice. Its a bit on the daring side because of how low it is at the front so I'm definitely wearing something underneath it, but if your feeling at risky! Work it!

Thank you so much for ready my post, please comment I love hearing feedback and I promise to post again as soon as I can!!

Lots of love Aisha x

A Culchie Goes To London

This is an outfit I wore to church, who says you can't get dressed up to go to church! This outfit is very similar to an ootd I posted before! I love pairing black with grey, it goes so well! They compliment each other so easily and fashionably.

I know it's summer and your supposed to wear bright colours that communicate the weather but as we all know the weather in England is not very dependable one minute the sun is shining and the next it's hiding behind layers and layers of clouds. So since it was a bit chilly I decided to wear my favourite turtle neck jumper and a pair of black tights. I then paired it with my favourite leather combo.

This colour combo gives you an edgy and minimalistic vibe because it's so simple. There's no designs or patters to distract each other.

Please don't pay attention to the sad excuse that is my hair. Hopefully it doesn't take me as long to post the next post! Slàn for now!!

A Culchie Goes To: The National Science & History Museum

Being a tourist I decided todo some touristy things in London as you do. I went to visit the National Science & History Museum. I wasn't to excited about the science part as I love History, but I was really surprised as I found myself enjoying the Space exhibition! I'd encourage anyone in London to go and see it, it was really fascinating.

For this trip to the National Science & History Museum, I tried to go for a type of Museum aesthetic and I hoped it worked. Featuring again in this ootd is guess what? My denim skirt. No surprise there I suppose.

Well for this trip I paired it with my black halter neck that adds a bit of pizzazz to any outfit ( yes I did in fact use the word pizzazz). I think it was the black halter neck that truly topped off my Museum aesthetic. Sorry this one is short but I'll be back with more soon!

A Culchie Goes To London: A Walk in the Park

This is what I wore for a simple walk to the park, the white plain t-shirt captures the effortlessness and simpleness of summer and the denim skirt adds the right amount of chic to it. It was just the right level of casualness that you wouldn't mind seeing your crush in or having an impromptu fashion shoot like I did. The man behind me must have thought I wasn't well in the head! and please excuse my awkward posing, I'm still learning the tropes of fashion blogging.

Didn't I say that most of my posts would feature this denim skirt. Its not that I have nothing to wear its just that I want to wear this skirt everywhere! Its so comfortable and I wasn't lying when I said it went with everything.

I apologise for not posting more, it not that I don't have the time. I certainly do, sometimes it seems that I even have too much time! Its just that it takes a while to upload these images onto my computer and sometimes I just lack the spirit and encouragement to do so. I'm not going to make fake promises that I'm going to post every second day but I am going to try my best to post at least once a week. I recently bought some make-up and I'm excited to review them! So stay tuned for that.

                  The Culchie Goes To... London

One month of my Summer Holidays has already been spent watching Netflix and procrastinating getting that toned summer body. For the next month I'll be spending it in London, the city that never sleeps and any other poetic metaphors used to describe the city. I'll be hoping to post pictures, outfits and reviews of what I wear and do out and about London, if I do anything at all. So subscribe to my blog to find out what a Culchie does when they go to London.

I was going to post an airport outfit but decided against it because I barely had any time, I'll do one on my return trip. So below is an outfit I wore a couple of days after I arrived in London.

Ignore the household utilities in the back, don't worry I'll get better, we all have to start somewhere and mine just happens to be in front of a kitchen.

I got this skirt in New look and be ready to see this appear frequently in a lot of future ootds, this skirt is a summer essential!, every girl needs a denim skirt in their wardrobe. It goes with everything and you can dress it up or down by simply pairing it with some high heel wedges and your favourite bandeau. I plan on buying a white one as it adds a touch of summer and girlishness to any outfit.

I live for crop tops and I wear them basically everywhere.Summer gives me the chance to wear them without people judging me or dying from hypothermia due to the lovely cold weather of Ireland. This season off the shoulder tops or peasant tops are in trend and I am loving it! I plan to have one in every colour and design by the end of summer. They suit people of all shapes and sizes and there a lovely way to show off your collarbones!!

                                         Strobing

You only really need one product for strobing and that's a really good highlighter! Make sure you have one that's suits your skin tone. If you have a dark skin tone I would recommend buying a gold or bronze highlighter. If you have a lighter complexion, a pink or white/silver based highlighter. But what really matters is that you choose a highlighter that you think suits you and that you like!
Strobing seems to be the latest trend, the latest make-up fad on the tip of every make-up fans tongue. It is in fact not some new concept but a trick make-up artists have been using for ages. But as we know the make-up industry just loves coining new nicknames and reinventing old techniques. Many people prefer this technique to  "contouring" as it gives you a subtle glow and enhances your natural features whereas with contouring you are basically giving yourself a whole new image.

As stated before Strobing is no different than regular highlighting. You place it in areas you would like the light to hit off. The tops of your cheekbones, the inner corner of your eye, underneath your brow bone,, the tip of your nose and along the bridge of your nose . You can also apply the highlighter to the top of your Cupid's bow to emphasise your lips.

When your finished applying your highlighter you can rub it in gently with your fingers, a fan brush or a beauty blender. Make sure you blend it is properly to ensure you achieve that flawless look.

To give your face something extra I'd recommend putting on an illuminating moisturiser before your foundation or even mixing it with your foundation. This just doesn't illuminate your face but also hydrates and moisturises your skin, this is especially essential during these hot summer months.

So these are a Culchies thoughts on...strobing. If you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask them in the comment section below!

Disclaimer: I am not a make-up artist in any way these are just things I learnt from research and I'm not saying you have to do anything a certain way. None of these pictures are mine.

Welcome

Hi, For those who are unfamiliar with the term, Culchies are classified as unfashionable, uncultured country people and I'm here to show you that Culchies can be just as fashionable as the rest of ye. I hope to achieve this through regular updates in fashion, makeup and maybe the occasional potato review. I hope you stay tuned and realise for yourself just how stylish Culchies can be.
