A Culchie Goes To: Strasburg

Fun Fact Strasbourg is in fact in France and not Germany as I previously thought. I arrived at Charles de Galle around 3 and had to wait 6 before boarding the TGV. While waiting I decided to people watch and where best to do it than Paris, the fashion capital of Europe. The Parisians are effortlessly fashionable in their all black ensembles and it made me all the more stand out in my green hoodie and sketchers.

The weather was  amazing and I couldn't help feeling a bit smug as I was here while my friends were stuck in a classroom in Ireland. The view from our hotel was incredible, it seemed we right in the middle of all the activity.

It seems you do find the Irish anywhere and it wasn't long until we met some people from Galway and Cork. When I arrived on the grounds were the event was being held it seemed like I'd walked into the fields of Coachella. Girls sporting knee high sandals and bohemian crop tops while the men wore jorts and faded nirvana shirts.

One thing I can definitely say about the European Union is that they definitely value their security, it took a while to be checked by security but it was definitely worth it.

I suppose I could talk about some of the talks I attended but to tell the truth I spent most of my time sunbathing on a bean bag I'd claimed as my own. The city of Strasbourg is truly mesmerising, as if I'd just stepped out of a Disney novel. There was so much green space and parks.

There were so many cute little shops selling novelty items and I made sure I picked up some! We didn't have a lot of time to shop but I made I got a little retail therapy done, (I might post a small haul of what I bought there soon).

The people of Strasbourg were very welcoming and they didn't seem to mind as I butchered their language or when I asked for directions.

The finally concert was the perfect way culminate the wonderful weekend. The bands played music from different EU countries and it's was amazing to listen to the different music. There were no more boundaries as people danced and chatted to strangers discussing politics, music and how this weekend had affected them. It was truly an unforgettable experience. As Sunday approached I didn't want to return home, Strasbourg is a wonderful city full of excitement and adventure. I'd recommend it to anyone and I can't wait to return (hopefully soon).

Stripes Stripes and more Stripes!

It seems like the weather in Ireland couldn't decide what it wanted to be today sunny or windy. I decided to pair my favourite boyfriend jeans with a stripy t-shirt.

Didn't I say in my previous posts that stripes are versatile and go with basically everything. This outfit was perfect for a casual day out with the family or just a chill day at home.

If your wondering where my chokers from, it's just an old black shoe lace. Who says you have to fork over money for one, when you can recycle some from an old pair of shoes.

Shoutout to the grimy allys of my hometown, the things I do just for an aesthetic.

It's Actually Summer in Ireland?

Ireland has actually been experiencing summer this year but I don't want to hold my hopes too high just in case it starts raining tomorrow. This outfit it taking full advantage of the great weather without showing too much skin.

Everyone's in a rush during summer time to go chill at the beach or have a peruse around town so your wardrobe needs to be filled with comfortable and versatile clothing. Clothing that needs to be easy to take off and allows your skin to breathe.

I took advice from my previous post and paired these striped palazzo pants with a simple white off the shoulder crop top. It was simple and light exactly what summer embodies.

If your a bit more conservative swap the crop top for a baggy t-shirt and just tuck it in. It will look even more carelessly fashionable, a look loved by Parisians.

Sorry this is late, I've been busy procrastinating study for two weeks but summer has arrived and I'll hopefully be able to post at least once a week.

Stripes In Spring

Stripes are apparently the latest come back trend but to be honest when did they go out of style. Stripes are timeless and style them correctly and they'll take pounds of your figure.

This season the bolder the stripes the better, there's horizontal, vertical and asymmetrical too. I know we all love our regular black and white but a little colour never hurt nobody.

Here are some of my favourite striped pieces this Spring.

Everyone needs a pair of statement pants so why not kill two birds with one stone and get your stripe fix aswell. Pair them with a black off the shoulder crop top, a black fedora and your ready to go. If your looking for a more off the duty look, style them with a plain oversized t-shirt and black Birkenstocks.

No. 3 & 4 are very similar in style but I just couldn't decide which one I liked best. What I love both about these is that they have a very summery vibe. It's best to stick with black and white with pieces similar to this. Gladiator heels are perfect for those Coachella vibes and even if it's still raining where you live ( like here ) you'll look fabulous while marching through the mud!

The contrasting colours on this piece are very eye catching and this piece even incorporates the lace up trend that was loved last season. Since there's already a lot of colour on this, keep it minimalistic. This romper is lovely for a night out, style it with some white stilettos, and white fluffy clutch.

I hope I gave you enough advice on how to style stripes this season and dot forget to suscribe to get updates on when I post!

KIKO Haul + Review

Only people in the country will understand how hard it sometimes it is to find good quality makeup! There's currently no KIKO counter in my area but I've heard many good reviews from friends and I decided to try it for myself. I only spent less than €40 and managed to buy a variety of products.

I bought two foundations, their Universal fit hydrating foundation
and Skin evolution foundation. When I realised they actually had foundations in my shade, I was beyond excited. Hardly any shops where I live sell foundations in my shade and sometimes it's a real struggle. Out of the two of them I preferred the hydrating foundation as I barely needed to use as much as I usually do to create an airbrushed look. It covered all my flaws while still feeling very light and looking full coverage. The only downsize to this foundation is the packaging I would have preferred if it came in a bottle with a pump. The Skin Evolution does exactly as it states, my makeup did look very matte although I did put a lot of powder on because I have oily skin. It also felt a bit heavy after a while but other than that it was great.

I have nothing to sing but praises for their eyeshadow and eye pencil range. I bought three eyeshadows (shades - 139,156 and 180) and they were only €2.69 each! They are extremely long-lasting and when I mean extremely I mean extremely. This can also be seen as a disadvantage to some,It took me ages to remove it but maybe it would be easier to remove if you used makeup remover instead of water. The eyeshadows are also really pigmented and pick up well on camera. The shade 139 is also brilliant as a highlighter.

I also purchased their eye pencil( 815 and 800), Long lasting stick - 31
and Kajal pencil - 115. As you can see they are really pigmented and bright.

I'd definitely recommend everyone to check it out and I'll definitely shopping their again!

It Can't Be Spring Yet?

It seems Ireland hasn't got the memo it's Spring time because it's still a bit chilly here. I decided to pair my new long gilet with my white wool halter neck. You can never go wrong with white on white!

Gilets are an absolute essential, they honestly never go out of style. You can get them in so many different styles and colours. Small knitted ones are cute for summer and spring or you can get a large black one that you can pair with everything for winter.

Since I have a small hatred for jeans and I only wear them when I absolutely have to I paired this white combo with the comfortable black pants. As you can probably tell I was in a very minimalist mood but if you want to add some colour to this outfit. I'd suggest swapping the white turtle neck for red sweater or a long sleeved pastel t-shirt.
